Wordt Zoey (Jennifer Morrison) de Mother?
Spoiler Alert! Jennifer Morrison is back on the lot where she spent more than five seasons as House‘s Dr. Cameron — but this time she’s in a new role that showcases a killer comedic side we never knew she had. Jennifer joins CBS’ How I Met Your Mother on October 18 as Ted’s new love interest, a mischievous architecture nerd named Zoey Van Smoot — the most likely candidate yet to be the titular mom.
“Without giving anything away, it’s a very, very big character who influences Ted’s life quite a bit, so we were being very picky with who we cast,” reveals creator Craig Thomas. “We’ll see Zoey become a fixture of this group’s world.”

Ausiello’s Spoiler! – 1 September
Question: Since Jason Segel reportedly wants out of How I Met Your Mother when his contract expires after season 8, does that mean that’s when the show will end? —Chip
Ausiello: Maybe… maybe not. “It was funny to see that [quote] become such a story,” laughs executive producer Craig Thomas, “because all our contracts are through eight seasons. [But we all love it] so much, we’d be willing to talk about going beyond that point, too.” Especially since the series’ heart soon will be once again in the right place. Says fellow EP Carter Bays: “We gave our director our little document, [our] Season 6 Map, and she came in with tears in her eyes and said, ‘We’re back!’”

What’s to come on ‘How I Met Your Mother’ and what went away in Season 5! (Includes many Spoilers!)
“I hope no one will throw the word ‘sitcommy’ at us after Season 6.”
Those are the words of Craig Thomas, executive producer and co-creator of “How I Met Your Mother.”
He and Carter Bays, his fellow executive producer and co-creator, gave a group interview to several TV writers and critics Wednesday evening at the Television Critics Association press tour. They talked about beginning the show’s overall endgame and what’s to come in Season 6 (and much of that information is at the end of this post).
And for almost an hour, Thomas and Bays talked about Season 5, which many critics, including myself, found uneven at best and, yes, broad and sitcommy at worst. Though they say that their decision to experiment and not give the season an overall arc produced some of what they consider “HIMYM’s” best episodes, such as “Girls Versus Suits” and “Doppelgangers,” they said they ultimately realized the season felt “rudderless.”
